Walking stick with golden handle turns out to be a sword
An extravagant walking stick turned out to be a prohibited stabbing weapon during a federal police check on the A7. Officers checked a car at a rest area near Alt Duvenstedt (Rendsburg-Eckernförde district) on Wednesday, as the police announced on Thursday. One officer noticed an "unusual walking stick with a golden handle". When he examined it, a 44-centimeter-long blade was reportedly revealed. The so-called cane sword simulates a harmless everyday object and is therefore banned in Germany. The police confiscated the weapon. The 26-year-old owner is facing criminal proceedings for violating the Weapons Act.
The prohibited weapon confiscated during the police check was not just an extravagant walking stick, but also a concealed sword. The 26-year-old might face charges for possessing a crime-related weapon.
