3rd league - Waldhof Mannheim ends negative streak: First victory
SV Waldhof Mannheim have ended their negative streak in the 3rd Football League and won a game for the first time since the end of September. After ten games without a three-pointer, Waldhof won 3:0 (2:0) against FC Erzgebirge Aue on Saturday, giving them hope in the fight against relegation. In front of 7292 spectators, the team from Mannheim proved effective and improved to 17th place in the table.
In the first half, a double strike gave SVW a reassuring lead. First, Bentley Baxter Bahn deflected a shot from Jonas Carls into the goal with his heel (24'), before Malte Karbstein increased the lead with a header from a free-kick (27').
After the break, Mannheim coach Rüdiger Rehm's charges concentrated on their defensive work and took advantage of a glaring mistake by Auer to make it 3-0, with Bahn scoring his second goal (60').
