Personnel - Voß-Güntge becomes the new President of the State Social Court
Birgit Voß-Guntge is the new President of the Schleswig-Holstein Social Court in Schleswig. She took over on July 1st, succeeding the previous President Christine Fuchsloch, who has moved on to head the Federal Social Court, as the court announced on Monday. Voß-Guntge is looking forward to shaping and refining social law in Schleswig-Holstein in her new role as President of the Schleswig-Holstein Social Court, she said. The jurist will also preside over the 1st and 6th Senate of the Social Court. The Senates are responsible for the law of basic security for the unemployed and social insurance.
Voß-Guntge was most recently Vice President of the Schleswig-Holstein Administrative Court. After studying law and completing her referendary, she became a prosecutor in Flensburg in December 1999 and transferred as a judge to the Administrative Court in Schleswig in September 2001. From May 2008, she was assigned to the Social Court in Schleswig and was appointed a judge at the Land Social Court in September 2010. From 2010 to 2014, she was also a scientific employee and press spokesperson for the Constitutional Court of the Land. In October 2014, she transferred to the Schleswig-Holstein Administrative Court.
Birgit Voß-Guntge's background includes serving as a judge in the Administrative Court in Schleswig, located in the same region as the Schleswig-Holstein Social Court where she now serves as President. During her tenure at the Administrative Court, she also handled personal details related to various cases. In her new role, Voß-Guntge will now oversee justice matters in the Regional Social Court, focusing on regional social affairs and the law of basic security for the unemployed and social insurance.
