Clubs - Volunteering foundation supports clubs with 750,000 euros
The Thuringian Volunteer Foundation has supported 334 associations with around 750,000 euros this year. Due to the high demand, the foundation had to stop accepting applications just five weeks after the start of the program, according to a press release. The "Aktiv vor Ort" program supports voluntary work by associations and initiatives in rural areas with up to 5,000 euros.
According to the information, a total of 424 applications were submitted. The average amount awarded was 2276 euros, with the highest possible sum being granted five times. A volunteer fire department in the Greiz district applied for and received just 105 euros. It wanted to send 15 members a floral greeting as a thank you. In 2022, the funding amount was one million euros, with the money coming from the state.

Despite the high demand for the foundation's support, clubs and initiatives in Erfurt and other rural areas in Thuringia also benefit from the "Aktiv vor Ort" program, which distributes funds to boost social activities.
