Parliament - Volunteer Day: Left party still in favor of constitutional amendment
On the occasion of Volunteer Day on Tuesday, Left Party social politician Karola Stange has reiterated her call for a constitutional amendment. Volunteers are a central pillar of social cohesion, Stange said in a statement on Monday. "It is therefore all the more urgent that we finally reward this commitment and enshrine voluntary work in the Thuringian constitution."
A possible amendment to the constitution has been under discussion in Thuringia for years. One of the proposals is to enshrine the promotion of voluntary work in the constitution.
