Bundesliga - Volleyball: VC Neuwied files for insolvency
VC Neuwied 77 from the women's volleyball Bundesliga has filed for insolvency. However, as the league announced on Thursday, the opponent of SSC Palmberg Schwerin intends to remain in the ongoing match operations.
"Due to the legal requirements, we were required to file an application for the opening of insolvency proceedings in view of an impending inability to pay," Neuwied's manager Manohar Faupel was quoted as saying in the Volleyball Bundesliga (VBL) statement. Together with the provisional insolvency administrator, however, it has been decided that the team will be able to continue playing until further notice.
After nine defeats without winning a set, Neuwied is in tenth and therefore last place in the table. The game in Schwerin was also lost 0:3.
