CDU parliamentary group leader - Voigt: We have achieved the majority of our demands
According to its parliamentary group leader Mario Voigt, the CDU has achieved a large part of its demands in the negotiations with the red-red-green minority coalition on the 2024 budget. "I am very satisfied," said the 46-year-old in Erfurt on Tuesday. This had prevented a standstill and provided stable finances for local authorities, citizens, the economy and social areas.
In addition, the state's financial reserves would not be completely used up in the coming year, as originally planned by the government. It was agreed that around 700 million euros would be available again as an emergency reserve at the end of 2024.
Negotiations on the figures, with a volume of around 13.8 billion euros to date, had been going on for weeks. The red-red-green coalition had to make compromises because it does not have its own majority in the state parliament.
