Vodka instead of a weapon: SEK operation in the Elbphilharmonie concert hall
An allegedly armed man caused a police operation at the Elbphilharmonie concert hall on Tuesday. Special units of the Hamburg police searched the building, according to a spokesperson. A witness had previously stated that he had seen a man with a weapon inside the building. The special units were able to apprehend the suspect and searched his apartment in the Elbphilharmonie. However, they did not find a weapon - but a special vodka bottle that resembled a weapon. The police did not believe that the man posed any danger. No criminal charges were filed against the man. The "Bild" newspaper had previously reported.
The witness's claim about a weapon in the Elbphilharmonie prompted an intense police operation. Despite finding curiosities during their search, such as a vodka bottle resembling a weapon, the police concluded that the man was not a threat.
