The rally stood to express dissent "against reactionary, discriminatory, and antisemitic ideologies and those who embody them," asserted Fabrice Le Restif, the General Secretary of the FO union in the Ille-et-Vilaine Department.
The RN saw a significant victory in the European elections on June 9, gaining roughly 31.5% of the votes. As a reaction, President Emmanuel Macron unforeseeably disbanded the National Assembly and called for fresh elections.
Polls indicate that the RN could also secure similar impressive results in the legislative elections. With this, the party could become the most powerful presence in the Parliament and potentially even assign the Prime Minister.
