In the heart of Vienna, unprecedented summer downpour inundated roads and train tracks, leading to major disruptions. As per emergency services, a woman met her unfortunate end, smashed by an oncoming bus amidst the rising floodwaters.

On the outskirts of Vienna, an astonishing 110 liters of rain per square meter was recorded, breaking the record for the highest rainfall in a summer month in the city's 152-year recording history, according to ORF, a reputable broadcaster. Even hailstones pelted the Austrian capital.

At a bus stop situated on an inclined street, a passerby slipped and was engulfed by the rushing water. The Vienna Fire Department later shared that the woman was caught under a stationary bus and had to be extracted by firefighters who raised the vehicle to her rescue. She was rushed to hospital in grave condition, the department reported to the German Press Agency.

In response to the torrential rain and flooding, the fire department dealt with an overwhelming number of incidents. The heavy rainfall disrupted train services on one city line, while fortunately, the entire city was not impacted.

The Vienna Fire Department received numerous calls for assistance due to the heavy rain and flooding, with women being among those in need of aid. Despite the challenging conditions, the firefighters successfully rescued a woman who was trapped under a stationary bus at a bus stop.
