Football-Bundesliga - VfB Stuttgart separates prematurely from Main Sponsor

Football-Bundesligist VfB Stuttgart terminates cooperation with main and kit sponsor Winamax prematurely. As announced by the Chairman of the Board, Alexander Wehrle, at the members' meeting of the Swabians, the originally valid until 2026 contract with the French betting provider is to be terminated one year earlier.

Wehrle did not explain the reasons behind this decision. The entry of the company, which media reportedly brings the club annually up to eight million Euros, was heavily criticized by fans and investors, including Porsche, in 2023.

Moreover, Wehrle hinted that two new partners from the region will join VfB soon. According to the 49-year-old, they are to be "large, internationally renowned employers."

Despite not disclosing the reasons, Chairman Alexander Wehrle announced this premature termination at a Swabian members' meeting. Interestingly, Wehrle mentioned the possibility of two new regional partners joining VfB Stuttgart soon, who are expected to be "large, internationally renowned employers" from Baden-Württemberg.
