VfB presents Stephan Hildebrandt as new NLZ director
VfB Stuttgart has presented Stephan Hildebrandt as the new director of the Bundesliga club's youth training center (NLZ). The 50-year-old takes over the position with immediate effect and succeeds Thomas Krücken, who recently moved to Champions League winners Manchester City. The Swabians made the announcement on Wednesday. Hildebrandt most recently worked as a sports consultant for Hamburger SV, where he had already been head of the youth department between 2002 and 2010.
"He brings a wealth of experience with him and, with his background as a licensed coach, will continue our player-centered approach at the NLZ. At the same time, together with Fabian Wohlgemuth, he will consistently promote the integration of top talents into the professional game," said CEO Alexander Wehrle.
VfB Stuttgart's new NLZ director, Stephan Hildebrandt, has a rich background in soccer, having previously served as head of the youth department at Bundesliga club Hamburger SV. With his experience and coaching credentials, he is expected to help integrate top talents into VfB Stuttgart's professional team.
