3rd league - VfB Lübeck loses in stoppage time at MSV Duisburg
VfB Lübeck suffered a setback in their fight to stay in the 3rd soccer league. VfB coach Lukas Pfeiffer's team suffered a 0:1 (0:0) defeat at MSV Duisburg, who are bottom of the table. Santiago Castaneda scored the winning goal for the hosts in stoppage time (90th minute+2).
It was the fifth game in a row without a win for the team from Schleswig-Holstein, who had recently drawn twice in a row. VfB remain in 17th place in the relegation table with 14 points, just two points ahead of Duisburg.
For a long time on Saturday, it had looked like a goalless draw. However, MSV, who played strongly in the final stages, were rewarded when Castaneda placed the ball into the right-hand corner of the goal following a corner. The Lübeck side continue their campaign on December 9 (2 p.m./MagentaSport) with a home match against FC Ingolstadt.
