VfB hopes for Guirassy comeback against Dortmund

Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart are hoping for a comeback from their goalscorer Serhou Guirassy ahead of the home game against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday (3.30pm/Sky). Following a muscular injury in his thigh, the 27-year-old Guinea international has been training with the team again since Wednesday. However, it remains to be seen whether he will be able to play. Guirassy has scored 14 goals in eight appearances so far this season.

A win against runners-up Dortmund would see Stuttgart consolidate their third place in the table. However, coach Sebastian Hoeneß's team recently lost twice in a row against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and 1. FC Heidenheim. In between, they managed a win against Union Berlin in the DFB Cup. Hoeneß will be able to call on Pascal Stenzel again against BVB. The right-back has recovered from a thigh problem.

VfB Stuttgart's potential return of goalscorer Serhou Guirassy could pose a threat to Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga match on Saturday. Guirassy, who has netted 14 goals in eight appearances this season, has been training with the team following his thigh injury and could feature against Dortmund's second-place team.

Despite their recent losses to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and 1. FC Heidenheim, a victory against Dortmund would significantly boost VfB Stuttgart's position in the Bundesliga table, potentially closing the gap to Borussia Dortmund.
