German Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt has secured the services of two-time German national footballer Mahmoud Dahoud. The midfielder joins the club on a free transfer from English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion and has signed a deal till the summer of 2026, according to the club's announcement.

The 28-year-old Dahoud started his professional journey at Borussia Mönchengladbach before moving to Borussia Dortmund and then to England. Last season, he featured on loan for VfB Stuttgart. Dahoud has made two appearances for the German national team under former coach Joachim Löw in 2020.

Eintracht Frankfurt's sporting director refers to Dahoud as a 'top-notch addition'

Eintracht Frankfurt has addressed the injury of Danish midfielder Oscar Højlund, who sustained a metatarsal fracture on Wednesday. Højlund joined Eintracht from FC Copenhagen this summer.

'Dahoud is an experienced player,' said Eintracht's sporting director Timmo Hardung. 'We've not only managed to cover the temporary absence of Oscar Højlund, but we can now count on a top-notch addition for the long term in a key position.'

The club announced that 'The following shall be added: Mahmoud Dahoud' to their squad. This experienced midfielder, who has represented Germany twice, will strengthen Eintracht Frankfurt until 2026, providing cover for Oscar Højlund's injury and bolstering their midfield for the long term.
