Crime - Verdict expected in fatal car attack trial

The verdict is expected on Thursday (1.30 p.m.) in the trial for a fatal car accident in the Esslingen district. On Wednesday, the public prosecutor's office demanded seven years in prison for the 34-year-old defendant for manslaughter. The defense pleaded for a less serious case and demanded three and a half years in prison.

After an argument at the end of May, the defendant drove her car out of the underground parking garage while her 32-year-old partner clung to the hood. After driving almost two kilometers on the country road near Reichenbach an der Fils, he fell under the car and died of his injuries a short time later. On Wednesday, the accused apologized to the victim's relatives for the crime.
