Verdi wants across-the-board increases in the security sector
In the Hessian security industry, the trade union Verdi is entering collective bargaining with the demand for across-the-board hourly wage increases. The approximately 30,000 employees in the industry have been hit hard by inflation and need significantly higher wages, explained lead negotiator Mathias Venema on Monday.
According to the union, people with a previous hourly wage of less than 14 euros should receive 2.50 euros more per hour. Skilled workers earning more than 14 euros an hour should receive 3.50 euros more in future, according to the proposals. The talks begin on Wednesday in Raunheim near Frankfurt.
The proposed tariff increases by Verdi could potentially mitigate the impact of inflation on lower-paid workers in the Hessian security industry. However, implementing these tariffs could lead to increased costs for companies in the sector, potentially resulting in higher prices for their services due to the tariffs.
