In the area of Strehlen's Dresden district, numerous blazes kept law enforcement and firefighters busy throughout the night. The local police department is investigating whether these fires were caused by deliberate arson. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The fire department mentioned that their initial response was due to a vehicle in flames. Upon arrival, the blaze had spread to another vehicle and caused significant damage to a third.

Nearby, a total of ten rubbish bins were also engulfed in flames. The blaze posed a threat to spread to the surrounding greenery and an adjoining residential building. As the fire trucks were still occupied with the vehicle fire, the local police attempted to manage the situation with portable fire extinguishers. Eventually, a fire truck arrived on the scene, and multiple teams worked diligently to put out the flames.

However, a short distance away, another vehicle caught fire and quickly spread to another. Several trees were also affected, and another vehicle displayed signs of thermal damage, according to the fire department. Despite these challenges, they eventually managed to contain the fire. Additionally, an adjacent burning rubbish bin was swiftly extinguished.

In the city of Chemnitz, the fire department was also summoned to a car fire. The vehicle was entirely consumed by flames, while two others sustained significant damage. The Chemnitz police department speculated that arson could be the culprit since the Mercedes in question had been unregistered for some time. The estimated damage costs amount to approximately 40,000 euros.

Firefighters struggled to put out a fiery rubbish bin, fearing it could spread to the surrounding area. The unregistered Mercedes, engulfed in flames in Chemnitz, led the local police to suspect arson as the cause.
