Volleyball - VC Bitterfeld-Wolfen wins against Königs-Wusterhausen
The volleyball players of VC Bitterfeld-Wolfen have ended their negative streak. The newly promoted team came out on top 3:1 (25:13, 25:17, 22:25, 25:23) at bottom-placed Energiequelle Netzhoppers Königs-Wusterhausen on Friday evening and celebrated another success after three defeats in a row.
After 102 minutes, Christopher Visgitis, who was honored as the most valuable player, converted the first match point for the guests. Coach Alessandro Lodi's charges temporarily climbed to sixth place with their fourth win of the season.
The team from Bitterfeld clearly dominated their opponents in the first two sets. Then the thread broke. The Netzhoppers reduced the deficit to 1:2. In the fourth set, the visitors were already 18:14 ahead, but fell behind 22:23 after a number of unnecessary mistakes. With a brilliant final spurt, the Bitterfeld team prevented the threat of a fifth set and secured victory with three points in a row.
