People in mortal danger - Van crashes into trees - seven seriously injured
Seven passengers of a transport vehicle were severely injured in an accident on a Monday in Vorpommern. Three of them are in critical condition, as the police announced in the evening. In the vehicle there were people with mental and physical disabilities.
The accident occurred on the L192 at the location of the settlement Richtenberg (Landkreis Vorpommern-Rügen). The driver is said to have swerved off the road for unknown reasons, and the vehicle then collided with two trees at the roadside. The driver and six of the seven passengers sustained severe injuries.
The three critically injured were flown to hospitals in Greifswald and Rostock with rescue helicopters. The other severely injured were taken to nearby clinics with rescue vehicles. Ten rescue vehicles and two doctor's cars were in use. The road was closed for approximately three hours.
The accident on the L192 in Vorpommern-Rügen resulted in significant traffic disruption, causing delays for other vehicles in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
