Accidents - Van crashes into tree: couple killed
A woman and a man have died in a traffic accident near Simmerath on the Belgian border. The 76-year-old driver left the road in his van on Monday for unknown reasons and crashed into a tree, police said on Tuesday. Despite resuscitation, he died at the scene of the accident. The 69-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries shortly afterwards in hospital. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
