USCins has reunited at the Dessau-Rosslauer High Voltage facility.

Uscin's recognition in German men's handball is a recent development, traced back to the Olympics in Paris. Fortunately, the Dessau-Roßlauer HV is now delighted to welcome back a prominent club figure.

Armands Uscins Resumes Coaching Role at Dessau-Roßlauer HV. The dad of junior world champion Renars Uscins, who claimed an Olympic silver medal with the German national squad at the Paris Summer Games, steps into the coaching role for the A-youth team of community sports organization Kuhnau/DRHV 06. "I deliberately took a break from handball for the past two years. I was fatigued and used that time to hone my coaching skills. Watching many of Renars' games also offered me a fresh perspective on handball and rekindled my love for the sport," shared the 50-year-old father of Germany's current top handball player.

He had been approached about the position last year, but he wasn't quite ready then. "At that time, I wasn't prepared, but now I am, and I've accepted the offer. I'm excited for this new opportunity. Handball still brings me immense joy, and the break did me good," said the former local star, who has a notable presence in the region.

In 2005, he left his hometown Riga to settle in Dessau, the Bauhaus city. From 2005 to 2011, he donned the jersey for Dessauer HV 96 and DRHV 06. Post-retirement, he guided the men's team of SG Kuhnau until 2016, then took control of the coaching position at third-tier team SV Anhalt Bernburg. In 2017, he was appointed as the Latvian national coach and steered the team to the European Championship in 2020. Following the 2017/18 season, he stepped down from his Bernburg position and moved to SV Grün-Weiß Wittenberg-Piesteritz, where he coached until two years ago. Now, after a 13-year hiatus, he returns to second-tier club DRHV 06.

Other coaches might find his coaching style inspiring, considering his diverse coaching experience across different teams. After taking a break, he discovered a newfound passion for coaching the 'Other' age group in handball.
