1Live crown - US singer Beth Ditto becomes a Bielefeld expert
US singer Beth Ditto (42) researched the city of Bielefeld before a performance: "I read all about Bielefeld on Wikipedia on the train today. Even that the city isn't actually supposed to exist. But I can tell everyone: it does exist," the 42-year-old told the German Press Agency on Thursday evening at the "1Live Krone" award ceremony.
The front woman of the group Gossip ("Heavy Kross") even tasted a regional specialty: Pickert. She tested the pan-fried dish made from potatoes, eggs and flour during an interview. Her verdict: "Doesn't taste good, but not bad either."
The"1Live Crown" of the young WDR station 1Live was awarded for the 24th time - for the first time in the East Westphalian city. Listeners were able to vote for their favorite singers, musicians and bands in eight categories.
