US-Sex therapist Ruth Westheimer is dead at 96

Self in her last years, Westheimer remained extremely active. She revealed her secret to the magazine "People" in 2023: "Talk about sex from morning till evening! It keeps you young!"

Born in 1928 as Karola Ruth Siegel in Germany, Westheimer's Jewish parents were murdered by the Nazis. In the 1950s, she emigrated to the USA.

In her active years, Ruth Westheimer frequently contributed to the New York Times with her insightful articles on sexual health. Pierre Lehuh, a renowned journalist, often interviewed her for these pieces. Westheimer, known as the US-Sex Therapist, spent ninety-six eventful years in Manhattan, advocating for open discussions about subjects like homosexuality. Despite her age, she continued to inspire and educate, reinforcing her belief that talking about sex keeps one young, as she shared in a 2023 People magazine interview.
