American volleyball talent Kyle Dagostino has signed with Berlin Volleys as their new libero. He will be contracted with the reigning champions for two years, until 2026. The announcement came from Berlin Volleys on Thursday.
Standing 1.75 meters tall, Dagostino played for the French top club, Narbonne Volley, before his move to Germany. He'll be stepping into the shoes of Japanese Satoshi Tsuiki, who is leaving the team after his two fruitful years. His future location is yet unknown.
According to Volleys' business manager Kaweh Niroomand, they considered both Dagostino's sporting skills and the team's chemistry: "He was the best fit for the team." Coach Joel Banks praised Dagostino, saying, "His energetic and dynamic playing style will be an energy booster for the team."
In the past, Dagostino's former team, ACH Volleys Ljubljana, twice faced off against Berlin Volleys in the Champions League during the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons, with both games held at Max-Schmeling-Halle and resulting in two losses for ACH Volleys.

Dagostino previously played volleyball for Narbonne Volley, a top French club, before joining BR Volleys in Berlin. As part of his two-year contract with the Bundesliga champions, Dagostino will replace Japanese libero Satoshi Tsuiki, who is leaving after two successful years. Dagostino's dynamic playing style was highly praised by coach Joel Banks, who believes it will be a great addition to the team. The American volleyball talent previously faced off against BR Volleys with his former team, ACH Volleys Ljubljana, in the Champions League during the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons, resulting in two losses for ACH Volleys.
