Awards - US Film Association: "Killers of the Flower Moon" movie of the year
The historical thriller"Killers of the Flower Moon" has been voted the best film of 2023 by the renowned US film association National Board of Review.
The film by Martin Scorsese (81) is a "breathtaking masterpiece" by one of the greatest filmmakers, said NBR Chairwoman Annie Schulhof, explaining the choice. The director's prize also goes to Scorsese. The award winners were announced on Wednesday (local time).

The association named Paul Giamatti for "The Holdovers" and Lily Gladstone for "Killers of the Flower Moon" as Best Actor in a Leading Role.
The French legal drama "Anatomy of a Case" won in the International Film category. German actress Sandra Hüller (45, "Toni Erdmann") plays a writer who is accused of killing her husband in their home.
The association also listed the "Top 5 International Films". Among others, the German drama "Das Lehrerzimmer" by director Ilker Çatak made it into this category. The film will also be entered by Germany in the race for the foreign Oscar.
In addition to "Killers of the Flower Moon" as Best Film, the association listed nine other "Top Films". These include "Barbie", "Ferrari", "The Holdovers", "Maestro", "Oppenheimer" and "Poor Things".
The trophies will be presented at a gala in New York on January 11, 2024. Founded in 1909, the National Board of Review is made up of film historians, cineastes and filmmakers.

The "Killers of the Flower Moon" film, set in the USA, has garnered critical acclaim, with Martin Scorsese receiving an award for his direction. The film, which follows the historical events of the Osage Nation killings, is one of the nine top films listed by the National Board of Review.
