In Thuringia, residents can expect summer-like temperatures and evening thunderstorms today. Up to 34 degrees Celsius is expected on Wednesday, with a high heat load, as announced by the German Weather Service. From the afternoon onwards, the likelihood of rain increases, with potentially strong thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail, and gusts of wind expected in the evening and night. Temperatures will drop to 16 degrees Celsius overnight.

The hottest day of the year so far, with a high of 35.4 degrees Celsius, was recorded in Müllheim in the Markgräflerland region of Baden-Württemberg on Tuesday, according to preliminary data from the DWD.

Despite the record-breaking heat in Müllheim, Thuringia continues to experience summer-like temperatures, with weather forecasts indicating up to 34 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. However, the Weather Service warns of an increase in rain likelihood from the afternoon, potentially leading to strong thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail, and gusty winds in the evening and night, resulting in a significant drop in temperatures to 16 degrees Celsius overnight.
