Up to 11 degrees expected at the weekend - black ice on Friday

People in North Rhine-Westphalia can expect temperatures of up to eleven degrees at the weekend. On Friday, however, there could still be black ice due to freezing rain, according to the German Weather Service (DWD).

NRW weather - Up to 11 degrees expected at the weekend - black ice on Friday

People in North Rhine-Westphalia can expect temperatures of up to eleven degrees at the weekend. However, freezing rain could cause black ice on Friday, according to the German Weather Service (DWD).

Black ice is to be expected mainly in the Sauerland and Eggegebirge regions. In the east of the country, it could even snow at times. Otherwise, it will remain overcast and rainy in some areas during Friday with temperatures between 3 and 8 degrees.

According to the DWD, Saturday will start with heavy cloud cover. Rain is expected in the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to rise to between 7 and 10 degrees. Rain showers could occur on Sunday night with lows between 4 and 7 degrees.

Apart from a few showers, Sunday will often be free of precipitation. According to the DWD, temperatures are expected to reach 8 to 11 degrees.
