The German ice hockey champions, Eisbären Berlin, have secured forward Manuel Wiederer on a long-term contract. The German national team player and 2023 World Championship silver medalist has extended his contract until 2028, as announced by the club. Wiederer has been playing for the Eisbären since 2021 and has won the German championship with them twice.

"He's a very important player for us, both on and off the ice," said Eisbären sporting director Stéphane Richer, "In my opinion, Manuel is one of the best defensive forwards in our league, who also consistently scores points."

In his 172 games in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) for the Eisbären, Wiederer has scored 29 goals and assisted in 28.

The contract extension for Manuel Wiederer was announced by the Eisbären Berlin. The German national team player will continue playing for The Eisbären until 2028.
