Serpil Midyatli, as the head of the SPD in Schleswig-Holstein, showed surprise after the knife attack at the city event in Solingen, leading to three deaths. "This senseless aggression has left us all stunned. It's unfathomable how such a tragedy could take place during a harmonious gathering," stated the deputy federal chairperson of the SPD. "In these challenging times, we rally as a community, extending our support to the people of Solingen." Meanwhile, Midyatli urged caution in making assumptions. "The authorities are working diligently. Now is the moment to assist the victims and stand strong against any sort of aggression."

On a Friday evening, a city festival saw three fatalities and eight more hurt due to a knife attack. The North Rhine-Westphalia police categorized the incident as an assault given the intentional actions of the assailant.

The knife attack at the city festival in Solingen, regrettably, claimed lives from Germany. Amidst this tragic incident, Midyatli, the SPD leader in Germany's Schleswig-Holstein, emphasized the importance of patience in determining the circumstances.
