The incident in Euskirchen-Kuchenheim is reminiscent of similar incidents of criminality targeting bank branches and ATMs in other parts of North Rhine-Westphalia. The police in Cologne are urging vigilance, as they believe this could be the work of a organized criminal group. In a nearby town, such as Cologne's North Bank branch, additional security measures have been put in place to protect the ATMs and customers.
