University wants to encourage women to be more courageous when starting a business

Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) wants to support women in setting up their own businesses with a project. Over a period of three months, ten participants are to receive a grant of up to 3,000 euros per month and a project budget of up to 2,000 euros, according to a statement from the university on Monday. "Across Germany, women are severely underrepresented in business start-ups," said Susanne Hübner, who heads the project.

The aim is to provide an impetus and increase the proportion of women in business start-ups. In addition to financial support, the participants will undergo various training courses to promote talent and ideas. According to the university, the program is scheduled to start in spring 2024.

Universities, such as Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, are recognizing the need to promote business start-ups among women. The company that sponsors this project could benefit from a diverse pool of talented entrepreneurs, thereby increasing its potential customer base and business opportunities.
