Faculty Governing Body - University panel shares views on the nation's leader.

The committee deliberated over Rauch's case during their meeting on Wednesday, but ultimately decided to leave the final decision to the president. The members expressed their feelings about Rauch to her directly.

Rauch has been facing backlash for hitting the "like" button on posts on platform X that are considered anti-Semitic. One specific instance involved a contribution featuring demonstrators displaying a picture of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a swastika painted on it.

Annette Hiller, the head of the committee, made a statement on the matter on Wednesday, "The Academic Senate is in agreement that Mrs. Rauch is not an anti-Semite, and we vehemently condemn the sensationalism in the media regarding her. However, we believe she's made a major mistake."

Rauch spoke before the committee with remorse, noting her apologies and acknowledging her errors. She has asked for a disciplinary process to be initiated against herself by the science administration. Furthermore, she plans to provide counseling hours for Jewish students, as well as setting up a consultation center for anti-Semitism victims according to her statements.
