Union's final training session with a good mood and Juranovic

The recently injured full-back could once again be an alternative for coach Urs Fischer. That could give Union Berlin further security in the match against SSC Napoli.

Union's final training session with a good mood and Juranovic

Coach Urs Fischer will probably be able to count on Josip Juranovic in the 1. FC Union Berlin defense for the Champions League group match at SSC Napoli. The 28-year-old Croatian full-back completed the public first 15 minutes of the final training session in Berlin before leaving with the team. "All here," wrote the Bundesliga club, which is currently in a serious sporting crisis, on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday.

Juranovic last played for Union at the beginning of last month in the 3:2 home defeat against SC Braga from Portugal. He had to take a break before the international break, but was called up for the national team in the European Championship qualifier against Wales. He then had to sit out again.

Otherwise, the mood among the professionals was good despite the Union team's losing streak across all competitions. Ahead of this Wednesday's match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona (18:45/DAZN), coach Urs Fischer's team had conceded twelve defeats in a row. Another defeat in Naples would mean that their chances of reaching the knockout rounds of the European Champions League would be over.

Juranovic's strong performance in the training session indicates his potential availability for 1st FC Union Berlin in their Champions League clash against SSC Naples. Despite their losing streak, the team showcased a positive atmosphere during their final preparations, hoping to break their 12-game losing streak in Naples and preserve their chances in the Champions League group stage.
