Struggling 2. Bundesliga team Eintracht Braunschweig has obtained defender Paul Jaeckel on loan from top-tier club 1. FC Union Berlin for a year, as announced by both sides on Thursday. According to Union's football operations chief, Horst Heldt, "This loan provides him with the chance to garner consistent game time at a high level and enhance his skills further."

At Braunschweig, the 26-year-old Jaeckel is anticipated to boost the defense, which has already let in 13 goals in three league matches. The ex-youth player of VfL Wolfsburg added, "Our season's start hasn't been impressive, but I am extremely optimistic that we'll collectively manage to achieve our aim of remaining in the league."

Jaeckel's loan move from Union Berlin to Braunschweig is significant, considering Germany is known for its strong football tradition. With his expertise, Eintracht Braunschweig might aim to emulate the success of other German clubs.
