Four test matches, one short training camp. The women's team of 1. FC Union Berlin have started their preparations after promotion to the second division.

Soccer - Union women start preparation after promotion

Women of 1. FC Union Berlin are preparing for the season in the 2. Football Bundesliga starting from July 8. Similar to the men in the first league, they will undergo sports and medical tests beforehand. In total, four test matches are planned: The first one on July 21 against the second team of VfL Wolfsburg, one in the training camp in Bad Saarow (July 23-26), the opponent on July 24 will be Polish Champions Pogoń Stettin. On August 4 and August 8, they will face Werder Bremen and SGS Essen.

The first mandatory match for the team coached by trainer Ailien Poese will be the DFB-Pokal first round game against FSV Gütersloh (August 17, 18 or 20). The second league starts the following weekend.

Summer Schedule

The Women's team of 1st FC Union Berlin is set to ascend to the Soccer Bundesliga, marking their first season in Germany's top-tier league. Just like their male counterparts in the Bundesliga, they are undergoing rigorous sports and medical tests before the season commences. The Women's Soccer Bundesliga will see them compete beginning July 8. Before the official league kick-off, they have four test matches scheduled: against VfL Wolfsburg's second team on July 21, during their training camp in Bad Saarow from July 23-26, with Pogoń Stettin as their opponent on July 24, and finally facing Werder Bremen on August 4 and SGS Essen on August 8.
