Football-Bundesliga - Union with large training group in Neuruppin

With a large training group, Bo Svensson continued Union Berlin's pre-season training in Neuruppin. Twenty-eight players of the Bundesliga team were available to the head coach today at Volkspark-Stadion. Jerome Roussillon was only used sparingly due to his thigh problems. Tymoteusz Puchacz remained at the hotel for load management, and Kevin Volland was still out due to his knee injury.

The Iron are preparing for the upcoming Bundesliga season in Brandenburg this week. Josip Juranovic is particularly familiar, but not in the best memory, with the Neuruppin grounds. The full-back had trained there a few weeks ago with the Croatian national team. However, the World Cup third had to leave again after being eliminated in the group stage.

The next test match is on Saturday (5:00 pm) at Stadion an der Alten Försterei against Olympique Lyon. The first mandatory game is on August 17 in the first round of the DFB-Pokals against SC Greifswald. Union Berlin's Bundesliga season begins with an away game on August 24 at Svensson's former club Mainz 05.

Jerome Roussillon, despite being a part of 1. FC Union Berlin's Football-Bundesliga team, was limited in his participation during pre-season training due to thigh issues. The team, led by head coach Bo Svensson, was conducting their season preparation in Neuruppin, Brandenburg, a location familiar to Josip Juranovic who had trained there with the Croatian national team previously. Despite finishing third in the World Cup, Juranovic had to leave early due to the team's group stage elimination.
