Soccer - Union prepares with another training camp
The 1. FC Union Berlin will prepare for the upcoming Bundesliga season with another training camp under new coach Bo Svensson, as stated in a communication on Sunday. From July 28 to August 3, work on form and conditioning will continue in Neuruppin, Brandenburg.
Training begins on Monday, but only medical and athletic tests are scheduled. On Saturday, Union will play their first test match against BSG Chemie in Leipzig's Alfred-Kunze-Sportpark.
The Berliners will travel to Austria's Längenfeld on July 13 for their first training camp, where they will stay for six days. A test match against the Scottish traditional club Glasgow Rangers is scheduled for July 27 at Alten Försterei.
Two more matches are planned for August 3 and 9. The opponent on August 9 is Real Sociedad San Sebastián from Spain. Union will face Greifswalder FC in the first round of the DFB-Pokals on August 17, and the Bundesliga season starts the following weekend.
Summer schedule
- Prior to their departure to Austria, 1. FC Union Berlin will conduct an initial training camp in Neuruppin, focusing on fitness and form development from July 28 to August 3.
- Following their testing match against BSG Chemie in Leipzig on Saturday, the Berliners will return to Berlin for their usual training routine at the 1st FC Union Berlin's facilities.
- The Bundesliga team is also preparing for a match against Real Sociedad San SebastiáN from Spain on August 9, which will be one of the two additional fixtures scheduled during the training camp in Neuruppin.
- After participating in the DFB-Pokals first round against Greifswalder FC on August 17, 1. FC Union Berlin will officially kick off their Soccer Bundesliga journey the following weekend.
