Union Berlin has made a commitment to Serbian forward Andrej Ilic.

Berlin secures a midfielder right before the transfer deadline, ruling out another prospective player from joining the Iron Ones.

Ilic was under contract with Lille since February 2024 but was unable to showcase his talents due to a severe injury. In the current season, his appearances have been limited.

Impressive goal-scoring statistics

At a towering 1.89 meters, the striker has played in Norway and Latvia among other countries, where he maintained an impressive goal-scoring record. In his 169 professional matches so far, Ilic has scored 65 goals and provided 22 assists.

As per media reports, Union Berlin had also been interested in signing striker Ragnar Ache from 2. Bundesliga club 1. FC Kaiserslautern, but negotiations between the clubs broke down.
