Predicted climate conditions - Uninterrupted downpours predicted for the Free State until Sunday.

In Germany's Free State, the German Meteorological Service (DWD) predicts a continuous downpour on Friday. They also anticipate showers, some of which will be quite intense, on Saturday. This rain could persist in northern Bavaria through Sunday.

The DWD estimates that between 50 to 90 liters of rain will fall per square meter in most Bavarian regions on Friday, up to 100 liters in catchment areas. Lower Bavaria is expected to see 30 to 50 liters of rain. The temperature range will be between 11 to 17 degrees.

Earlier this week, two water management authorities in Bavaria warned of potential flooding issues. In Schwandorf, local flooding and floods are expected to last until Friday afternoon, while in Miesbach, there may be flooding. The police have reported only minor flooding in the Cham area, including a flooded cellar and a flooded road. The rest of the state has been largely unaffected thus far.

After Friday night, experts warn of even more heavy rainfall. Saturday is expected to be predominantly cloudy, with ongoing rain, as well as strong, invigorating winds.

On Sunday night, both rain and potential thunderstorms are forecasted. The south of Bavaria might experience some clearing and drying, though. According to the DWD, the rain will linger across the Danube and in Swabia on Sunday. From the north, Franconia is predicted to see gradual clearing to the point of sunshine by Monday morning.
