Crime - Uniformed police security guard allegedly a trick thief

A uniformed police officer of the Berlin Police is suspected of participating in a trick theft at an 83-year-old woman's residence. The Criminal Police searched the apartment of the 28-year-old man on a Wednesday, as the Police announced. The suspect is part of the police protection detail, which guards embassies, synagogues, and ministries. These protection officers are not police officers, but they wear a police uniform and carry a gun.

The 83-year-old woman is said to have been asked by a false policeman on a Monday in Spandau to hand over cash, securities, and gold bars to another man. The 20-year-old brother of the police officer and a 23-year-old man are also under suspicion.

The investigation into the crime at the elderly woman's residence has involved the Berlin CID, as they are investigating potential involvement of multiple individuals, including the police officer. This incident has raised concerns about con artists posing as police officers. The false policeman who approached the woman on Monday in Spandau is yet to be identified, but it's clear that such incidents of deception can occur in any city, even Berlin.
