Basketball - "Unexpected": Coach Laso leaves Bayern basketball team
Chef trainer Pablo Laso has unexpectedly left the basketball players of FC Bayern Munchen. The 56-year-old Spaniard requested resolution of his contract, which runs until 2025, due to family reasons, the German champion announced on Friday morning.
"Pablo's personal decision came as a surprise to us, but we hold him in high regard as a coach and personality, and we now sincerely thank him for his work and great commitment during the successful season we had just experienced", said CEO Marko Pesic.
The former successful coach of Real Madrid had only joined the Munich team last year. In his first and only season with them, he led them to win both the BBL Cup and the championship. "We wish Pablo all the best for the future, not just because of the double win, he will always be connected to us", said Pesic.
The club will provide information on further personnel planning soon, it was further stated. Pesic will therefore have to work under pressure to find a new coach.
