- Unemployment in MV rises again

The number of unemployed people in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has risen again. As the regional office of the Federal Employment Agency in Kiel reported, there were 63,000 people without jobs in the north-east in July. This reversed the downward trend from the previous month. The unemployment rate reached 7.7 percent. In June, it was 7.5 percent, and in July 2023, it was 7.4 percent. Just before the start of the new training year, statistics showed that 2,100 school leavers had not yet been placed. The number of unfilled training positions was almost double that, at 3,500.

The increase in unemployment in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern highlights the need for effective Employment and social security policies. This situation underscores the importance of addressing both employment concerns and providing adequate social security for the affected individuals.
