Barnim locality - Uncommon wild horses find a new home close to ship hoisting facilities.
On June 2nd, those interested in horses can learn about an exciting new project on the Schorfheide's outskirts. A local horse breeder will showcase the Brandenburg wild mustangs, with plans to train them for riding and driving.
These twelve spirited young horses made their way near the boat lifts towards the end of 2022. The boat lifts are a major tourist attraction in the Barnim district, capturing the imagination of science buffs.
In August, Niederfinow commemorates the 90th anniversary of its historic boat lift. Meanwhile, in October 2022, a brand-new hoist began operations beside it. This modern marvel allows boats to overcome a 36-meter height difference along the Oder-Havel waterway.
