- Unauthorized Operation of a 130,000-kilometer Long Truck: Driver Without a License Apprehended
Law enforcement intercepted a long-haul trucker who had been operating without a legally authorized driver's permit for several months, racking up a commendable 130,000 kilometers on the road with his semi-trailer truck. Personnel from the relevant Federal Logistics and Mobility Agency picked up the semi-trailer during a patrol on the A44 close to Paderborn: it was cruising at an unwarranted 110 kilometers per hour in a 80 km/h zone, as confirmed by the police.
Upon inspecting the vehicle at a truck halt, these authorities uncovered that the 40-year-old driver had been driving without a valid permit for a staggering nine months. Yet, the vehicle's electronic logistics system revealed that he hadn't let this hitch impede him: he had maneuvered the vehicle on 189 days and had also infringed upon mandated rest periods. Moreover, the truck's necessary annual inspection, referred to as its TÜV, had lapsed as well.
Consequently, the authorities are currently investigating the driver and the firm that hired him for their potential involvement in this illegal activity.
The police backed up the investigation by the authorities, as they also found evidence of the driver's unlawful actions. The driver's alleged transgressions included operating without a valid driver's permit, which was noticed by the police during a routine traffic stop.
