Unanimous confirmation of Voigt as head of the CDU faction in Thuringia's legislative assembly.
Voigt expressed his joy, "It's a blast collaborating with our energetic, involved, and predominantly female squad to push for significant improvements and a bright tomorrow for Thuringia." According to reports, the recently reformed group reaffirmed their decision to carry on dialogue to establish a CDU-governed state administration.
The CDU finished runner-up to the AfD in the Thuringia state vote. If the negotiations about the upcoming state government prove prosperous, Voigt is set to assume the role of Minister-President, and the state parliament group would subsequently need to select a fresh faction leader. The newly appointed AfD state parliament group had previously endorsed their party leader, Björn Höcke, in his role.
Mario Voigt demonstrated his excitement about working with the energetic team, aiming to bring significant improvements to Thuringia. In the event of successful negotiations for the state government, Voigt is anticipated to become the Minister-President, requiring a new faction leader within the CDU state parliament group.
