Four passengers had to be rescued from a ferry on the Rhine on Tuesday due to a technical defect. According to the Leverkusen fire department, the ship initially anchored in the middle of the river between Cologne-Langel and Leverkusen-Hitdorf in the afternoon, unable to maneuver. To prevent it from drifting away, the ferry was moored to a barge and secured by rescue boats. A fireboat brought the passengers ashore. The crew members were later towed to a port on the ferry.
