Ulm team oversleeps opening phase in Eurocup
After a disappointing performance in the first half, German basketball champions ratiopharm Ulm have conceded defeat in the Eurocup. The Bundesliga club lost 75:86 (24:51) at U-BT Cluj-Napoca on Wednesday and failed to move past the home-strong Romanians in the Group B table. After six games, Ulm still have four wins to their name.
The home side was already 37:17 ahead midway through the second quarter. Ulm lacked presence in defense and luck in finishing for a long time. In the end, it was a poor day for the visitors. The improved performance after the break did nothing to change that.
Despite the improved performance in the second half, ratiopharm Ulm couldn't overcome the deficit they faced during the Eurocup match against U-BT Cluj-Napoca. The German basketball champions had a tough time both on defense and finishing their shots, allowing the Romanian team to maintain a significant lead. Despite their four victories in six games, Ulm suffered a 75:86 loss in Cluj-Napoca, which could potentially affect their position in Group B.
