Basketball - Ulm basketball team with away win in Eurocup
The rathiopharm Ulm basketball team has taken a big step towards qualifying for the final round of the Eurocup. The German champions won the second round opener at Italian representative Dolomiti Energia Trento by 85:83 (43:42) on Wednesday evening. LJ Figueroa was the best scorer with 20 points. It was Ulm's seventh win in its tenth game.
Ulm began with concentration in defense and attack. They quickly built a lead and went into the second half 21:13 ahead. The hosts stepped up their game and reduced the deficit to one point by the break. Up to this point, the visitors had a clear advantage in terms of shooting percentage and defensive rebounds.
