Instead of tax hikes and cutting retirement benefits, it's uncertain what Labour actually has planned, declared a determined Sunak. Starmer, who's pacing ahead in the polls, argued that this election offers a choice between "further chaos and division, as we've experienced for the past 14 years," or a fresh start with Labour.

The showdown occurred in Salford, close to the northern English city of Manchester. The following week, Sunak and Starmer are anticipated to go head-to-head in a televised debate.

Sunak proclaimed the 4th of July as the day for the parliamentary vote. Nonetheless, his own Conservatives, who've been in power for 14 years, are experiencing tremendous stress. In a recent survey published by the YouGov opinion research institute, Labour might manage to snag as many as 422 of the 650 seats in Parliament. This would be the worst thrashing for the Tories in over a century.
